A Third Ypres 1917 ´Pilckem Ridge´ Casualty Pair to Corporal H.J. Newman, Coldstream Guards British War and Victory Medals (18904 Pte. H.J. Newman. C. Gds.), nearly extremely fine, with Great War Parchment Memorial Scroll; Coldstream Guards "Colours" Certificate of Service, named to the recipient; Borough of Cheltenham Memorial Scroll, named to the recipient and signed by the Mayor, this framed, and photographic image of recipient (lot) Estimate £ 100-120 18904 Corporal Harold James Newman, born Cutsdean, Worcestershire; Assistant Scout Master of the Cambray Troop, ´enlisted in the Coldstream Guards in Cheltenham, serving in France and Flanders with his regiment and was killed in action on the opening day of the third battle of Ypres, at the taking of Pilckem Ridge [31.7.1917].
