Family Group: Pair: Second Lieutenant G.N. Slinger, Royal Field Artillery British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut. G.N. Slinger.), mint state, both in respective original named card boxes of issue, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque ´George Nicholas Slinger´, in card envelope of issue, and with registered envelope for recipient´s medals correctly addressed to the family home, ´Rough Lee, Accrington, Lancashire´, with recipient´s initials British War Medal (Lieut. W. Slinger.), mint state, in original named card box of issue, with Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque ´William Slinger´, in card envelope of issue, with registered envelope addressed to recipient´s father ´Major G.W. Slinger, Rough Lee, Accrington, Lancashire.´ (lot) Estimate £ 220-240 G.N. Slinger and W. Slinger were brothers. Second Lieutenant George Nicholas Slinger, commissioned Temporary Second Lieutenant Royal Field Artillery, 4.4.1915; and served during the Great War with the 159th Brigade R.F.A. in the French Theatre of War from, 1.2.1916; he was killed in action on the Western Front, 28.11.1916 and is buried in the Point-Du-Jour Military Cemetery, Athies. Lieutenant William Slinger, commissioned Temporary Lieutenant East Lancashire Regiment, 1.3.1916; served during the Great War with the latter, from 20.9.1916 and was killed in action on the Western Front, 23.7.1917; he is buried in the Hervin Farm British Cemetery, St. Laurent-Blangy.
