Daniels, Royal Field Artillery, Squadron Leader Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, Mentioned for Military Operations in Aden, 1918, And Transferred as Lieutenant, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, 1944, to Work With ´Squid´, The Secret ´Ahead Throwing Anti-Submarine Weapon´ British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. Oakleaves (Major G.P. Daniels); Defence and War Medals; Territorial Decoration, G.V.R., with integral top riband bar; Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.VI.R (Geoffrey P. Daniels), very fine or better, with several photographic images of recipient in his various postings (6) Estimate £ 140-180 M.I.D. London Gazette 20.12.1919 T/Maj G.P. Daniels, R.G.A. ´For gallant and distinguished services in connection with Military operations at Aden during the period from 1.9.1918-31.12.1918 Major Geoffrey Pottinger Daniels, T.D., born London, 1887; educated at Highgate School; served during the Great War as a Temporary Major Royal Garrison Artillery with the Aden Field Force, December 1916-31.10.1918; after the War Daniels was employed at Dean Close School as Head of a Junior House and the O.C. of the School´s C.C.F., 1922; he left for Hereford Cathedral School in 1930; prior to the outbreak of the Second World War Daniels took command of the Air Cadet Defence Corps (125 Squadron) in Cheltenham and was still in that position with the equivalent rank of Squadron Leader in 1940; according to the Navy Lists he then went on to transfer as Lieutenant Special Branch R.N.V.R., 17.1.19144, serving in relation to ´Squid´ (ahead throwing anti-submarine weapon), probably out of a base in Southampton.
