The first group listed belonging to the son James Johnson, who was born in North Shields, 1889 and saw service with the Navy in minesweeping operations and duties with the Merchant Navy during the Great War. The second group listed belonging to the father, also James Johnson, who was born in North Shields, 1862. In both cases respective papers give the medals being sent to the same address, ´9 Mount Pleasant, Milburn Place, North Shields.´
