The Interesting and Rare Group of Three to Lieutenant L.J. Pellat, Royal Air Force, Late Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve and Russian Armoured Car Division, Royal Naval Air Service 1914-15 Star (F.1500. L.J. Pellat. P.O. M. R.N.A.S.); British War and Victory Medals (S. Lt. L.J. Pellat. R.N.V.R.), nearly extremely fine (3) Estimate £ 250-300 Lieutenant Leon James Pellat, born Marylebone, London, 1894; joined as Air Mechanic 2nd Class Royal Naval Air Service, 18.11.1914; served as Petty Officer Mechanic in the Russian Armoured Car Division, R.N.A.S., 1.10.1916-16.7.1917. The latter period of engagement was alongside the Tsarist forces during the political quagmire of the Bolshevik revolution. The British troops found themselves fighting in difficult conditions ranging from the extreme cold within the Arctic Circle to the extreme heat of the desert terrain of Armenia. Pellat was commissioned Temporary Sub-Lieutenant Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, 29.10.1917, before transferring as Lieutenant Royal Air Force, 1.4.1918. Discharged 8.9.1919.
