R.), nearly extremely fine, with Great War Memorial Plaque ´Wilfred Gordon Anson´ (3) Estimate £ 120-160 3315 Private Wilfred Gordon Anson, native of Salisbury; served during the Great War with the 14th (Service) Battalion (West of England) Gloucestershire Regiment and was killed in action on the Western Front, 22.10.1917, is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Ypres. The Times Diary and Index of the Great War gives ´Anglo -French advance on either side of the Ypres-Staden railway, 1,000 yards deep, from N. of Mangelaere to E. Poelcappelle; 200 prisoners; Germans recapture part of Houthulst Forest.´
