Beasley, Royal Navy, Divisional Officer for The Prince of Wales, 1909-11 a) The Royal Victorian Order, Member Fourth Class´s (M.V.O.) breast Badge, silver-gilt and enamel, reverse officially numbered ´809´ b) 1914-15 Star (Commr. F.A. Beasley. M.V.O., R.N.) c) British War and Victory Medals (Commr. F.A. Beasley. R.N.) d) Messina Earthquake Medal 1908, this in leather case of issue, good very fine, with the associated miniature awards, this mounted for wear and housed in a Spink & Son, Piccadilly case, and photographic image of recipient as a Naval Instructor with the cadet intake, including the Prince of Wales, at Dartmouth 1911 (5) Estimate £ 500-550 Captain Francis Adams Beasley, M.V.O., R.N. (1881-1935); educated at Cheltenham College; entered the Royal Navy as a Cadet, 1897; Lieutenant 1903; served as a Lieutenant in H.M.S. Exmouth during the Messina Earthquake disaster, 1908, and landed from the ship to participate in the rescue operations; appointed Divisional Officer for the Prince of Wales, whilst he completed his course at Dartmouth Naval College (1909-11), for which Beasley was awarded the M.V.O. (London Gazette 12.4.1911); served during the Great War in the Dardanelles and advanced to Commander, 1915, his postings for the period including H.M.S. Crescent, Queen Elizabeth and Hercules; Captain R.N. 31.12.1921, and served on the Commander-in-Chief´s Staff at Devonport, 1921-22; retired 1922; buried at Leckhampton Church.
