G.B. Godfrey-Faussett. W. Gds.), very fine or better, mounted court style as originally worn (7) Estimate £ 600-800 M.B.E. London Gazette 1.2.1945 Captain (Temporary Major) George Bryan Godfrey-Faussett (105429), Welsh Guards (Woking). ´In recognition of gallant and distinguished services in North West Europe.´ The Recommendation, dated 9.10.1944, states: ´This officer has been DAQMG at HQ 21 Army Group since Oct 43. Since Feb 44 he has been dealing with the provision, supply and repair of all tanks and ´A´ vehicles in the force. Before the operation he also dealt with their waterproofing. Throughout this period he has shown outstanding ability and perseverance. He has never spared himself. The smooth and continuous flow of replacement tanks to the armies in the field has been largely due to his efforts. He is an officer of personality and tact, whose work has been untiring and the results produced thereby invaluable.´ Efficiency Medal London Gazette 8.9.1953 Captain (Hon. Maj.) G.B. Major George Bryan Godfrey-Faussett, M.B.E., born 1908; and was the only surviving son of Captain Sir Bryan Godfrey-Faussett, G.C.V.O., C.M.G., R.N., Equerry in Ordinary to King George V and Extra Equerry to King Edward VII (his group sold at Spink 21.7.1998); G.B. Godfrey-Faussett was educated at Wellington and Trinity College, Cambridge; Page of Honour to King George V, 1919-26; Underwriting Member of Lloyds from 1936; married the daughter of the Right Honourable G.L.T. Locker-Lampson and as such was related through marriage to Queen Elizabeth´s family (Bowes-Lyon); commissioned Second Lieutenant Welsh Guards, 19.11.1939; Lieutenant 3.1.1941; Captain (Temporary Major) 20.1.1944; Honorary Major R.A.R.O., 1946.
