Surr: R.), number officially corrected, scroll suspension, edge bruise, otherwise good very fine Estimate £ 80-100 697 Private Thomas Masterton, born Chanterhill, Fermanagh, Ireland, 1844; enlisted in the 3rd Foot, January 1868; served in India from August 1868, and took part in the Perak Expedition, 1875-76; transferred 2nd Foot, April 1883; Awarded Long Service & G.C. Medal 1.7.1886; transferred 9th Foot as number 3848; discharged as unfit for active service, May 1900, after 32 years and 142 days with the colours, of which 31 years were spent in India.
