A Cavalry Officer´s Sword An 1821 Pattern Light Cavalry sword, with fine 35 1/4in. slightly-curved fullered blade by Hawkes & Co, Piccadilly, etched with foliate decoration and VR cypher, polished steel regulation three-bar guard, wire-bound fishskin grip and chequered pommel, in its steel scabbard See illustration Note: This sword is probably that of Captain J Anstruther-Thomson, who served with the 9th Lancers and 13th Light Dragoons between 1834 and 1835.
