International Rate 1897 (11 May) envelope to Wales bearing 1/2c. on 3ca., 2c. on 2ca. and 5c. on 5ca. cancelled by pa-kua with "customs/chefoo" despatch c.d.s. on reverse, the higher value is partly covered by French Chine 25c. tied by "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s., readdressed on arrival to Bournemouth and bears a very fine strike of "canton.b.o./cardiff" c.d.s. with the appropriate transit c.d.s. on reverse; some light soiling but an unusual and attractive part cash paid cover.
