1897 New Currency Surcharges Small Figures Surcharge on Dowager First Print 2c. on 2ca. green variety surcharge double in a horizontal pair, the right stamp showing "2" over "en, setting A, left pane [19-20], the surcharge is off-set on reverse as all examples, some hinge remainders on reverse, large part original gum. A fine and rare multiple being one of only three pairs. S.G. 39e; Chan 39c. The second sheet was split up and used commercially, only six examples being saved; these are cancelled by Lungchow pa-kua A reconstruction of the sheet was illustrated in the Spink Hong Kong catalogue in November 1999
