Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, specimen $500, 1 January 1901, red-brown and blue, value in blue underprint at low centre, arms of the Bank top centre, value at centre and at each corner, signature spaces for the Chief Accountant and the Chief Manager, reverse red, maiden (Industry)spinning with cherubs (P. 154, Cribb Money in the Bank p.59), perforated SPECIMEN, good extremely fine, attractive and extremely rare. A lovely note of which no issued examples survive. Estimate HK$ 100,000-140,000
