Japan Instructional Marks missent: 1883 (7 Dec.) Swiss 25c. postal stationery envelope addressed to Alexandria "Via Brindisi", Celerina despatch c.d.s. in lower corner, with a fine strike of unframed "missent to/yokohama. japan" in black and Yokohama c.d.s. showing small date (26/1, year inverted); a wide variety of transit c.d.s. on reverse including Chiavenna (8/12), Yokohama (23/1), Hong Kong (4/2), Suez (3/3) and Alexandria (4/3); the first mail on the restored route to cross Egypt after the Cholera outbreak.
