China CNC Surcharges A five frame exhibit of internal covers used during the period on C.N.C. with a frame of domestic covers with examples from all of the different rates between $2 and $300,000 including 1947 (1 July) cover from Shenth to Uliang franked at $100, the day the rate was increased to $500, and with $800 Postage Dues, to pay double the deficiency, 1946 Shanghai slogan cancellation, 1947 return to sender handstamp, 1947 underpaid with $810 Postage Dues, instructional marks - sender should write post number ... (two types), Shanghai Local Postage Paid (unusual during this period), registered, 1948 Army letter (air surcharge free); domestic air mail with examples from all the the rates from $4 to $3,300,000 (less $35,000, $85,000 and $1,215,000) including 1948 underpaid, express and bearing $5,100,000 used during the Gold Yuan period; domestic registration with examples from the eight rate changes from $5 to $1,200,000, 1947 opened-out cover sent between Wushain and Shiaushan and returned with four attempts of the return delivery, 1948 returned mail and combination with Gold Yuan stamps; domestic air registered with examples of the nine rates between $8 and $1,245,000 including 1948 National Assembly Delegate cover; "A.R." fee covers with examples from the eight rates between $8 and $2,100,000 (less $25,000) including 1946 Army cover, 1947 mobile post office; domestic express registered with examples from the seven rates from $6 to $60,000. A very fine collection showing a wide diversity of frankings including some scarce and interesting covers.
