China 1897 Revenue Surcharges Small Figures 2c. on 3c. red variety surcharge double (close) [1] with broken "n", broken fun and yin cancelled by Shanghai Customs c.d.s. for February. The two surcharges are 0·25mm apart, the second strike is lighter than the first and to the left. This type of doubling is very similar to the variety surcharge double and inverted and is considered to be a true double print. Holcombe Certificate (1992).
