China 1894 Dowagers Covers 1895 (Oct.) large envelope registered to Germany bearing, on the reverse, 9ca. grey-green with 12ca. deep orange tied by Tientsin seal in blue and indistinct Customs c.d.s., sent via the German Post Office in Shanghai (26/10) with Reichspost 10pf., 20pf. (3) and 50pf. tied by Shanghai type 2 c.d.s. with the registration label at left; heavy vertical fold though both Dowagers; other soiling and the cover cleaned and repaired at top. A scarce franking.
