China Large Dragons 1883 Thick Paper, Clean-cut Perforations 1884 (7 Nov.) opened-out envelope from the Russian Consulate, addressed to France bearing, on the reverse, 1ca. bright green pair, 3ca. rose-carmine and 5ca. chrome-yellow pair and singles (2) cancelled by blue Peking seal handstamps with "customs/i.g. peking" c.d.s. in blue and Shanghai Customs alongside, the front with French Peace & Commerce 1f. tied by "shanghai/chine" c.d.s. with a second strike alongside. The 3ca. does not belong and cover with some light tone spotting and small stains at sides where fragments of self-adhesive tape have been affixed, nevertheless a desirable cover.
