Hong Kong King Edward VII 1904-06 specimen type d9: $1 purple and sage-green, $5 purple and blue-green and $10 slate and orange on blue, all on chalky paper, part to large part original gum; $10 gum wrinkle. Exceedingly rare and probably unique. Photo Estimate HK$ 80,000-100,000literature: Specimen Stamps of the British Colonies, Marcus Samuel ($1 illustrated, plate 14) This overprint was used by De la Rue between 1904-07, during the changeover to MCA watermarked paper. Generally applied on chalky paper stamps, thus appearing to be trials. Most of the examples are recorded in the Royal collection. For Hong Kong, these are the three values not in their set
