Hong Kong 1898 Without Chinese Characters Fourth Printing: 10c. on 30c. grey-green surcharge double, [6] with full original gum; a faint tone mark on reverse does not detract from the freshness of this important rarity, this being the only known example. Gurevitch Certificate (2002). S.G. 54b. Photo Estimate HK$ 250,000-300,000The two strikes of the surcharge, struck close together, are of equal intensity. Close examination shows the second strike of higher and to the left of the first. Only six examles (from the left pane) could have been produced without the Chinese character; this being the only surviving example.
