Maritime Wreck Covers of the World Europe 1910 (29 July) S.S. "La Lorraine", mail from the vessel subsequently damaged in a rail accident in France, postcard (partially charred, stamp floated off) from U.S.A. to Germany and bearing misleading German explanatory label which translates as "Saved from burnt American mail from the steamer La Lorraine via Havre 28.7.1910", the mail having been damaged in a fire on a train at Pont St. Maxence on the Paris-Jeumont route.
