Tunisia 1918 (29 July) envelope registered to the International Refugee Office in Switzerland, bearing 1906-8 25c. blue pair tied by extremely rare usage of "poste militaire serbe/bizerte" datestamps and by oval French Military Censor cachet over Reseal Censor label. Reverse with full return address "Invalides Serbe…Bizerte, Afrique" and Lausanne c.d.s. of receipt (17.8). Initially the retreating Serbian troops were sent to Tunisia, the journey was considered too long and the weather deemed inclement and the Serbian Army eventually transferred to Corfu. An extraordinary usage, just five, possibly six registered covers are recorded. Photo Estimate £ 350-400
