x Anglo-Boer War 1901 (24 Apr.) envelope (complete with contents) from a member of the Australian Contingent at Kroonstad to U.S.A., marked "On Active Service No stamps available" and showing F.P.O. 43 c.d.s., upon arrival in London franked with 21/2d. (to pay the outside Empire postage) cancelled with c.d.s. and also showing London Paid c.d.s. in red, New York (30.5) and Eureka (16.6) d.s. on reverse; the contents include "I retunrd to Adelaide with the 1st. South Australian Contingent on Dec 1st. 1900 and left again on Feb. 9th. 1901n as Lieut. with 5th. South Aus Imperial Bushman´s Corps", he also mentions clearing the country of inhabitants plus the danger of sniper fire. Most unusual. Photo Estimate £ 280-300
