Spain, Philip II (1556-98), AE 31 by Jacopo Nizzola Da Trezzo, cuirassed bust of Philip II with high ruff right, signed IAC TRICI F below bust, rev. two hands holding a yoke above a globe divided into three sections (Arm.I, 242/6; Bargello 726), attractive cast, very fine Estimate £ 350-400 provenance The reverse design is possibly a reference to the Abdication in 1556 of Charles V from the sovereignty of Spain, the Netherlands and all Spanish dominions in the New World to Philip.
