Uniforms of the Royal Company of Archers A Victorian Gentleman´s very fine green Court Dress uniform coatee of the Queen´s Bodyguard for Scotland, with green velvet facings and skirt-turnbacks, massive gold Thistle pattern embroidery to collar, cuffs, skirt-slashes and skirt-ornaments, richly gilt QVC mounted buttons (no epaulettes, one button missing from the front); companion green cloth trousers with 13/4in. gold thistle lace stripes; a superb green Field Dress tunic, edged and trimmed with black mohair braid forming four loops each side in front, showing crimson velvet lights in the centre, twisted gold shoulder-cords, gauntlet cuffs and wings also edged with crimson velvet, a massive badge of the Bodyguard in gold and silver embroidery at each end of collar, leather label in back of collar inscribed in ink Sir GHS Douglas Bt, Aug 1876; and companion green trousers, with double black mohair braid stripes showing a crimson velvet light between (4)
