R.N.); Messina Earthquake Medal 1908; Italy, Order of the Crown, Officer´s breast Badge, silver-gilt, gold and enamel, with rosette, in Cravanzola, Roma case of issue, minor edge bruising to medals, therefore very fine (3) Estimate £ 400-440Italy, Order of the Crown London Gazette 16.4.1912 Chaplain and Naval Instructor The Reverend Frederick Arthur Sims, M.A. ´In recognition of valuable services rendered by them at the time of the earthquake in Southern Italy in the year 1908.´ The Reverend Frederick Arthur Sims, M.A., had the living of Whale Island, 1905; he conducted the Trafalgar Centenary Service in H.M.S. Victory, 22.10.1905 and was one of six naval Chaplains to be awarded with insignia of the Order of the Crown in conjunction with services rendered at the time of the Messina Earthquake.
