Lot: 182

x Great Britain Postal History Ireland 1841 (c.) large piece, bearing 1841 1d., OC, margins all round, cancelled by fine upright strike of a most unusual black Maltese Cross, fine light handstruck "registered/no./dublin" (the no. "48" inserted in manuscript); fine and most attractive. Note: The Maltese Cross could be a grossly overinked Dublin type but is more likely to have originated at a small rural office - the Dublin registration handstamp probably applied in transit or on arrival.
