A pair of Household Cavalry Pantaloons A good modern leather pair, stamped inside 131, white enamel finish See illustration Note: In the 1980s, troopers of the Household Cavalry were authorised to paint their leather breeches with white enamel paint as an alternative to using blanco. The white enamel produced an attractive appearance in the short term but quite soon became liable to unsightly cracking. The experiment was therefore abandoned and an artificial alternative to leather was developed. Estimate £ 70-100
