An Officer´s Uniform of the Hertfordshire Yeomanry A rifle-green Dress coatee with scarlet collar and cuffs, both edged with black mohair braid and fine black braid figuring, the double-breasted front fitted with a detachable and reversible scarlet/green plastron secured by two rows of ten white metal buttons, skirts with scarlet turnbacks with a silver-embroidered ornament and slashes with scarlet piped edges; (no epaulettes, one button missing in front, cuff-buttons of different pattern to coatee buttons and two missing, side-panels replaced in service and of very slightly different colour to original cloth); together with a pair of trousers of good scarlet cloth with double stripes of 1in. black "Austrian" lace; and a scarlet waistcoat with upright collar edged all round with silver French braid, the waistcoat edged all round with narrow silver braid and trimmed with eight loops of the same braid, forming eyes and trefoils and fastened with small white metal ball buttons, on each side in front (3) See illustration Note: The shako belonging to this uniform is at Lot 86 Estimate £ 440-650
