Highrs.); British War and Victory Medals (2.Lieut. S.M.B. Hill), extremely fine, mounted for wear; with Parchment Scroll, (2) enclosure documents, portrait photograph and Prize Medal, 48mm, silver (Hallmarks for Glasgow), engraved ´High School of Glasgow 1867, gained by James F. Hill for Reading´ (3) Estimate £ 250-350Second Lieutenant Sydney Moir-Byres Hill, served during the Great War with the 3rd Battalion Gordon Highlanders, he was killed in action whilst attached to the Cameron Highlanders, on the first day of the Battle of Loos, 25.9.1915, and is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.
