Lewis. 11th: Hussars); King´s South Africa 1901-02, two clasps (2639 Corpl: W. Lewis. 11th. Hussars.); Special Constabulary Long Service Medal, G.V.R. (Sergt. William Lewis), good very fine or better, scarce (3) Estimate £ 140-1802639 Corporal William Alfred Lawrence Lewis, born 1867; served with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment); enlisted with the 11th Hussars (Prince Albert´s Own) 22.12.1886; served in South Africa 22.7.1890-23.10.1892 and in India 24.10.1892-4.10.1899, before returning to South Africa to see action with the Cherrypickers in the Boer War 5.10.1899-10.10.1902; released 24.1.1903 after 15 years with the colours. Clasps confirmed on roll.
