                        Canada 1851, the original contract for the printing of Canada´s first postage stamps,  being an eight page document between Rawdon,Wright, Hatch and Edson, and the Honourable James Morris, Postmaster-General and representative of the Canadian Government. The document specifies which stamps should be printed, i.e. 3d., 6d. and 1/- (subsequently the 12d. black), the method of printing, including paper, gum, etc. by the line-engraved method, and also that after printing has been completed the plates are to be sealed by both parties and lodged at a bank in New York for safe keeping. The document is signed by the four printers and Postmaster-General Morris  Probably the most complete philatelic contract that exists for any country and illustrating the change over from the British Government to the Canadian Officials to be in charge of their own postal system A highly important and outstanding historical philatelic document Estimate US$ 35,000-40,000
