Petersen & Co. firm´s address at top left, registered to Hamburg, bearing Clipperton Island 1c. to $1 set of ten each depicting, among other things, a map of the island with the year "1895" in the middle, each pre-cancelled with "w. frese & co. san francisco/Agents for O.P. Co." circular cachet in violet, cancelled by three-ring target obliterator with the 25c. additionally tied by San Francisco transit d.s., the envelope also franked with U.S. 3c. and 6c. tied by San Francisco d.s. and showing New York Exchange registration label with, on reverse, New York and arrival datestamps; some creases and light stains etc. A remarkable local issue franking Estimate £ 2,500-3,000literature: Stamp Lover, Vol. 94, October 2002
