x Ceylon, Victoria, proof AE 5 Cents, 1 Cent, and 1/2 Cent, 1870; 14.76g., 3.74g., 2.28g. (KM.91-3; Pr.179A, 197A,226A), much brilliance, attractive colourful tone, residual lustre, the 5 Cents with some minor spots, otherwise good extremely fine to nearly FDC, a scarce and pleasing group (3) Estimate £ 150-250These coins, in particular the 5 Cents, are lighter than the weights given in Pridmore, where the 5 Cents is listed at 18.90g. Pridmore´s figure is however consistent with the following lot, described by Remick as a ´double thick planchet´, and also the succeeding dates.
