Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, three clasps, Cape Colony, Wepener, Belfast (2675 Pte. A. Swales, \10th Hussars), unit officially corrected, nearly very fine Estimate £ 200-2502675 Private Arthur Swales, born Marylebone, London; enlisted Private 10th Hussars, 1887; Army Reserve 1894; re-engaged 1899 and served in South Africa 5.11.1899-14.12.1900; discharged 8.1.1901. Service Papers confirm Swales´ entitlement to a Q.S.A., however does not give clasp entitlement, it is possible that he was attached to a Colonial Regiment or was at Wepener in another capacity and as such exists on another roll-although the medal appears entirely as issued the clasps are unconfirmed.
