Indian Mutiny 1857-58, one clasp, Defence of Lucknow (Bombr. Hy. Neild, 6th Bn. Bengal Art.), light scratch and contact marks, therefore very fine Estimate £ 200-240Clasp not confirmed. 3741 Bombardier Henry Nield, 6th Battalion Bengal Artillery according to the Regimental Roll ´served in Ferozepore during the Mutiny of the 45 & 57 Regts. N.I. and outbreak of the 10 Lt Cavalry in May and August 1857. At Peshawur from 3rd April 1858 to this date [1.1.1859].´ As a result of this attemped Mutiny twenty four sepoys of the 45th were sentenced to be executed; twelve were reprieved, two were hanged and ten were blown away from guns (A Postscript To The Records Of The Indian Mutiny´, G.H.D.
