A ´Light Brigade´ Crimea to Private J. Bloomfield, 17th Lancers Crimea 1854-56, three clasps, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (Jas. Bloomfield. 17th Lancers.), neatly contemporarily engraved in upright serif capitals, rivets re-affixed between first and second clasp, severe contact mark to edge, otherwise good very fine and toned, with portrait photograph of recipient wearing his medal, Annual Dinner Programme, dated 1858 and original parchment Certificate of Service; together with British War Medal (F.3655 T.J. Bloomfield. P.O.M. R.N.A.S.), extremely fine and toned (2) Estimate £ 3,500-4,000484 Private James Bloomfield, born 1819, Stowmarket, Suffolk; enlisted 17th Lancers, 21.9.1836; invalided after 19 years and 238 days service, 15.12.1856; attended the First Balaklava Banquet, 25.10.1875; Member of the Balaklava Commemoration Society, 1879.
