Military General Service 1793-1814, four clasps, Barrosa, Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, Vittoria (J. Barnett, 2nd Foot Guards.), good very fine Estimate £ 800-1,000Private Jacob Barnett, born Calne, Wiltshire; joined Coldstream Guards 1805; discharged 1833, after 28 years and 233 days with the Colours. Private Barnett´s medal does not appear on the M.G.S. roll but is entirely as issued. The slightly thicker flan, similar to that of the South Africa 1853 medal, probably indicates an original but slightly later claim and issue.
