Jubilee (Metropolitan Police) 1887 (PC, S. Bullock. J. Divn.), extremely fine, in Gass & Co., London fitted case, with interesting and informative contemporary personal Charge Book Estimate £ 100-1502745 Constable Samuel Joseph Bullock, was discharged from service in the Steamer Mermaid, 9.2.1870; joined K Division (Bethnal Green) Metropolitan Police, 1.3.1870; retired after 25 years service, 1895. ´4th Charge 30.6.1870 Elizabeth Obvian - Felony stealing 13 pound of Beef from the shop of Bull and Medway, Bethnal Green Road - 4 months at the Old Worship Street Police Court.........18th Charge 4.9.1871 Frederick Whitker for cutting his name on one of the seats in Victoria Park.......28th Charge 7.11.1872 Christon a Frenchman - Drunk and assaulting P.C. Bullock in the Whitechapel Road fine 20 shillings and 1 month............At 1.30am on the morning of the 25th of January 1879. I was on duty in the Whitechapel Road where I found 2 prostitutes fighting I was trying to seperate them when I received a heavy blow on the right side of my head. Which caused me to fall on looking up I saw a man running up Brady Street at the same time the girls called out run Tom I turned giddy when PC465.K Stamford and PC105.K Man came up and assisted me to the station where I was seen by the Divisional Surgeon and sent home assisted by PC Man. I remained on this sick list 15 days. During that time 4 men was taken into custody by Inspr. O Callogan and Dect PC Ralph for bulgary when it was hoped at the police court that one of the 4 by the name of Graham was the man that struck me on the head with a jimmy which was found near the spot by a milk man the next morning and produced at the Old Bailey where the prisoner Graham was sentenced to 7 years I was on sick list and not able to attend Sessions´ (Charge Book refers)
