Ragama,Colombo, Ceylon, prisoner of war currency issued by the Ceylon Ice and Cold Storage Company Ltd for use at their own stored and dated 1 August 1901, 3rd issue, comprising 5 cents, serial number 4, pale pink-brown, 10 cents, serial no. 4, pale green-yellow, 25 cents, serial no. 87, orange, 50 cents, serial no. 5, red, 1 rupee, serial no.3, green and 5 rupees, serial no. 2, lilac, all with background of foliage and temple, arms top left, handstamp serial number, manuscript signature low right of the Agent and the Manager (Ineson 230-235), the 25 cents fine, balance extremely fine to uncirculated, mounting traces. An exceptional set mostly with very low serial numbers, extremely rare. (6) Estimate £ 6,000-6,500
