Banque de France, 5000 francs, 22 January 1918, serial number L18-412, purple, pale blue and white, allegorical figures and symbols at top, classical frieze in underprint below, cherub top left and right, value at centre, low left and right, reverse purple and pale blue, view of Paris and allegorical figures (P.76, Fayette 43/1), the note has been repaired and pressed otherwise very fine and is overall of attractive appearance, the famous Flameng note and one of the classics of World banknote design.
