1867 5c Deep yellow green, original plate, second state, a rare partial plate construction consisting of two large and attractive pen cancelled blocks of sixteen, positions 1-4/37-39 and 9-12/45-48, these two blocks are the top four rows at each end of the plate, three other singles are found in between, positions 30, 42 and 44, position 42 has a straight line handstamp, the other two are pen cancelled, all stamps are in the same deep yellow green color of this early state of the plate with strong deep impressions, there is an interesting under inking phenomenon in the right vertical row of the second block, the first block is quite choice with only a bit of minor toning, the second block has edge tears in the top middle pair that have been tape mended, otherwise very fine; both the blocks and the reconstruction are exceptionally rare.
