William III, Halfcrown, 1699, first, laureate, draped bust right, gvlielmvs iii.dei.gra., toothed border both sides, rev. inverted die axis, tiny stops, modified large crowned cruciform shields, later harp with six strings, Lion of Nassau at centre with six small lozenges surrounding, date at top, .mag. br.fra. et.hib. rex., edge, inverted, inverted A´s for V on edge, ++.+decvs et tvtamen anno.regni.undecimo (ESC 557 R3; S.3494), toned, weak at French arms, possibly removed from a mount as edge spotted and flawed in parts, but with the edge variety obvious, pitted, bold fine, very rare Estimate £ 250-300
