William III, Halfcrown, 1697E, Exeter Mint, first, laureate, draped bust right, no stop after first word in legend, gvlielmvs iii.dei.gra., toothed border both sides, rev. inverted die axis, large crowned cruciform shields, ordinary harp with nine strings, Lion of Nassau at centre with five lozenges surrounding, date at top, .mag br.fra et.hib. rex., edge, inverted, die flawed V´s on edge resembling inverted A´s .+.+.+.+.decvs.et.tvtamen.anno.regni.nono (ESC 547A R3; S.3490), adjustment marks both sides and weak of strike top and bottom, good fine, in our opinion the V´s on edge are die flawed and therefore the variety in English Silver Coinage may not be a true error Estimate £ 200-250
