The remarkable 1995 Thames find, quite possibly lost by a recalcitrant Parliamentarian fleeing the Restoration, included 377 Commonwealth silver coins, probably the largest such group ever to be found. Amongst these were two Halfcrowns of the previously unknown date 1657. This coin is the finer of the two.
