Charles I, Bristol mint, Halfcrown, 14.15g., 1644, Bristol horseman walking left, no ground below, small Shrewsbury plume behind, rev. declaration RELIG:PROT: LE:AN:LI:PA: in two lines, three plumes above, date and Br monogram below, double/single pellet stops, m.m. plume on obverse only (JGB 981 (same obv. die); Morr. B-2; N.2490; S.3008) striking crack at 6 o´clock, slightly tooled in field below horse, otherwise almost very fine, rare Estimate £ 500-600This coin is struck from the same obverse die as the last, lot 203 above. The variety with BR monogram below the date, but not below the horse, is not represented in the Brooker collection.
