D-2; N.2375; S.2932) filed on edge at 12 o´clock, otherwise centrally struck, almost very fine, very rare Estimate £ 1,200-1,500PROVENANCE: V J E Ryan, Glendining, 22 January 1952, lot 1284 P Hunt, portion of collection purchased privately by Colin Adams, March 2000 Morrieson numbers are specific down to type, legend reading, mintmark and stops but not to dies. Although this coin and JGB 820 are both classified as Morr. D-2, they are struck from different reverse dies. JGB 821, also Morr. D-2, is struck from a third reverse die of this type.
