Charles I, group III, Halfcrowns (2), Tower, type 3a2, king in armour on unadorned horse striding left, cloak flies from king´s shoulders, rev. oval garnished shield, (i) 15.15g., m.m. anchor, with flukes to right (over tun on reverse) (JGB -; N.2211; S.2775); (ii) 15.12, m.m. anchor, with flukes to left/right (over tun on reverse) (JGB -; N.2211; S.2775) the first slightly off-centre on reverse, a pleasing evenly struck coin, very fine, the second almost very fine, both scarce (2) Estimate £ 200-250PROVENANCE: (i) R Carlyon-Britton, third collection purchased by Seaby, 1959 P Hunt, portion of collection purchased privately by Colin Adams, March 2003
