xCharles II, Two Guineas, 1679, second laureate bust right, rounded truncation, carolvs.ii. dei.gratia, toothed border both sides, rev. inverted die axis, crowned cruciform shields, inner rings frosted on crowns, five strings to Irish harp, thinner fleur-de-lis in French arms, sceptres in angles, interlinked C´s in centre, date at top, .mag. br.fra. et.hib rex., no stop after hib, edge obliquely grained (Schneider -; MCE.43; S.3335), very attractively toned ,some light hairlines and tiny marks, otherwise superb, mint state and a very desirable specimen Estimate £ 10,000-15,000
