x HONG KONG Treaty Ports Nagasaki 1860 (13 Apr.) blue entire addressed to "Baron Rothschild" in London, marked "Via Marseilles" and "Per Overland ... Nagasaki 13/4/60", showing Frieleburg & Co company oval and rated "1/-", the reverse with Hong Kong c.d.s. overstruck by London arrival in red; horizontal filing crease, otherwise fresh and fine. This is believed to be the earliest surviving letter from the British Post Office in Nagasaki, which opened on 1st January 1860. In addition there are believed to be only three covers used before the introduction of the Nagasaki obliterator Estimate £ 3,000-4,000 provenance: Ryohei Ishikawa, July 1981
